IMPORTANT SAFETY ADVISORY
NUBY™ ICYBITE KEYS TEETHERS
On January 21, 2026, EI Brand Management Inc. & Nuby Asia Pacific LTD, Wanchai, Hong Kong issued a safety advisory in conjunction with Health Canada.
Under the CCPSA, item 4 of schedule 2, infant teether fillings must not contain any living micro-organisms. Health Canada testing has revealed that the liquid filling of the teether contains Fictibacillus Arsenius & Metabacillus Idriensis, and although these bacteria generally do not cause illness, the bacteria can affect children with weak immune systems, causing stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, if the teether is punctured and the liquid from the teether is ingested.
In Canada, approximately 15 367 units of these NubyTM “IcyBites keys” teethers were sold nationwide by major retailers and independent retailers between June 2025 and January 2026.
EI Brand Management Inc. has not received any reports of incidents or illness related to use of these teethers.
This Safety Advisory affects only the following model in Canada: Nûby IcyBite Keys teethers model No. 530455 with lot number ED04Z embossed on the packaging and molded on the product.
If you believe you have one of these teethers in your possession, please stop using and destroy the unit immediately and complete the replacement order below.
BEFORE CUTTING YOUR TEETHER, PLEASE MAKE SURE IT IS THE RECALLED LOT ED04Z INDICATED ON THE PRODUCT RING HOLDER.
NB: Please note, teethers must be cut as proof of destruction. Include a picture of the cut teethers to your form.
No replacement teether will be sent unless you submit a clear picture showing lot ED04Z molded on the ring of teether.
